At first glance, everything appears perfectly ordinary in the window of Howard Department Store. The mannequins stand motionless, posed and polished as always. But look a little closer and something feels distinctly strange. Are they really just shop dummies, or is something else going on behind the glass?
Blending magical realism, mystery and the surreal, Hummanequins gradually reveals a world in which these silent figures may have a purpose far beyond displaying clothes, and might even be a mysterious force for good.
An unusual and intriguing ensemble piece, the play offers actors the challenge of creating characters who hover between the human and the inanimate.
